Prevention - Public
A risk factor is anything that increases one’s risk of getting a disease, such as cancer. Some risk factors can be modified, such as lifestyle choices including tobacco and alcohol use, dietary habits, and exposure to the sun. Other risk factors cannot be controlled, such as genetics, immune status, and various environmental factors. Others are linked to cancer-causing factors in the environment. Still others are related to lifestyle choices such as tobacco and alcohol use, diet, and sun exposure.
The following pages will allow you to access resources relating to tobacco use, nutrition and physical activity, as well as sun safety. These are the three areas the WCCCC has identified as priority areas for improvement in the State of Wyoming.
You are urged to share this information with family, friends, caregivers, as well as policymakers, so they may better understand the urgency of Cancer Prevention & Control in Wyoming.
