Sun Safety For The Workplace |

Wyoming Outdoor Worker Sun Safety Toolkit
The Wyoming Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (WCCCP) and the regional Wyoming Cancer Resource Services projects are interested in collaborating with local, regional and statewide businesses in implementing the Wyoming Outdoor Worker Sun Safety Toolkit. The WCCCP would like to recognize and thank the California Skin Cancer Prevention Program for their willingness to share their outdoor worker sun safety program with us.
The purpose of the kit is to increase awareness and practice of sun safety principles and strategies. The kit was designed to provide educational materials that can be printed and distributed as well as promotional items to reinforce the sun safety educational messages.
Implementing the toolkit is easy. Materials and resources are provided to allow you to:
- Copy and distribute handouts
- Utilize the “Sun Safety: A Brief Summary” handout to display on bulletin boards, employee work stations, or distribute with paychecks as a seasonal reminder for workers to practice sun safe behaviors.
- Display brochures and posters in high traffic areas to assure maximum exposure to staff.
- Incorporate the “Sun Safety for Outdoor Workers” DVD and/or PowerPoint presentation as part of employee orientation or a staff/team meeting.
- Use the “Outdoor Based Business – Sun Protection Policy Guidelines” as a starting point to developing and implementing a sun safety policy for the organization.
Please contact your regional Wyoming Cancer Resource Services Program for more information. To help support your implementation efforts, the WCCCP is offering technical assistance as needed to organizations interested in implementing this program. Please direct those requests to:
